What are Tempo Time Credits?
Tempo Time Credits is a time-based currency that encourages more people to volunteer and participate in their community.
People earn Tempo Time Credits for helping out at community groups, organisations or local services. They can spend them on fun activities with family and friends or use them to learn new skills. Spending opportunities are provided by Tempo’s unique national network of partners.
Tempo Time Credits in Wales
Tempo was founded in the Welsh Valleys in 2008, as Spice Time Credits, with a mission to strengthen disconnected communities.
From these roots we have grown across Wales and into England, and retain a strong connection with Wales and our heritage. Our Welsh programmes are funded by public sector partners and grant funders, and cover a diverse set of social outcomes. We are also funded by Welsh Government specifically to grow Time Credits across Wales to increase volunteering, engagement and cohesion, address the impacts of poverty and improve health and wellbeing.
Who can join the Time Credits network?
Charities, community groups, public services, or any other organisation that uses volunteers
You offer Tempo Time Credits to your volunteers or service users. They can spend them on activities with local partners, treat others, or use them to enjoy group social activities. Earning and spending Tempo Time Credits is proven to help improve people’s health and wellbeing.
